Gladys Louise McClure, age 80, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, in Gatesville, Texas.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Oglesby, Texas, with Reverend Jeremy Sanders officiating. Burial followed in Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby, Texas. Visitation was on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home.
Louise was born on December 29, 1943, to Loyd and Gladys Venita (James) Goff in Magazine, Arkansas. She was a longtime resident of Coryell County. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oglesby, Texas. She was co-owner, with her husband, of Central Paint Company of Waco. She later worked at Wal-Mart in Belton and Gatesville as a cashier. She enjoyed her 60-plus group at the First Baptist Church of Oglesby.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, John D. McClure, Sr., step-father, John Henry Cole, step-mother, Sue Goff, great-grandson, Daniel Cooper, sister, Betty Cole, and brother, Jimmy Goff.
Survivors include her children, Paul Matthews and wife, Deborah, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Paula Vincent and husband, Jay, of Gatesville, Cathy Burks and husband, Paul, of Belton; John D. McClure, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Gatesville, Jimmy McClure of Waco, Teresa Edwards and husband, Loyd, of Oglesby; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Goff; sisters, Peggy Rogers and Willie May Westerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church (60-plus group) 120 College Avenue, Oglesby, Texas, 76561.
