Lester Tieben

Mr. Lester Henry Tieben, age 83, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Waco, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor, Texas, with Father Albert Ruiz officiating. Burial to follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas.

Lester was born on October 26, 1940, to Ben and May (Larson) Tieben in Dodge City, Kansas. He was a longtime resident of McGregor, Texas. Lester married the love of his life, Paulene Faye Woods on April 4, 1964, in Wright, Kansas. Lester served in the United States Army from 1962-1965. He owned and operated My-D Han-D from 1970-2005 in McGregor, Texas. He enjoyed playing golf, cards with his friends, he loved to aggravate people, and liked driving around town on his golf cart. Lester also enjoyed the holidays and BBQs with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Lester Paul Tieben, Jr., daughter, Becky Hernandez, son, Joe Tieben; brother, Jimmy Tieben and son-in-law, Earl “Sonny” Leonard.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Paulene Tieben; son, Jason Tieben, daughter, Christina Leonard, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous adopted children, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers: Brady Tieben, Blake Tieben, Collin Tieben, Jason Tieben, Christopher Sepulveda and Edward Reyes. Honorary Pallbearers: Chase Tieben, Steven Neal, Woody Thurmond, and Alan Lange.
