Pete Flores
Pete “Papa” Flores of McGregor, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Papa was born on April 29, 1920, to Mariano and Maria Flores. Papa lived an abundant life in Texas and was a proud fan of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Baylor University. Papa is preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Lucille Flores; his son, Pete Flores, Jr; his daughter, Lucille Robledo; his granddaughter, Mary Ann Rodriguez; and his great-grandchildren James Pete (JP) Vandiver, Shae Lynn Vandiver and Lucas Avila. He is survived by his children Charlie Flores, Tonie Flores and wife, Yung Yim, Steve Flores and wife, Patricia, Mary Wall and husband, Jeff, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Papa was a pillar of strength and guidance to his children and grandchildren. He instilled in them the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. He believed in the power of actions over words, and his legacy is one of quiet but profound impact on the lives he touched. His presence was a constant source of comfort and stability, and his wisdom will forever guide their paths.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at Grace Gardens Funeral Home immediately followed by burial services at McGregor Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Bobby Flores, Todd Flores, Joe Flores, Mariano Flores, Chris Cantu, and Jeremy Flores.
Papa’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of generosity and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
