Officer Mike Bucher and his partner, K9 Andor, met with some young library patrons this week. K9 Andor, a Belgian Malinois, was born in the Netherlands and speaks Dutch. He is a dual-purpose canine, certified in narcotics detection and patrol work. He loves to swim, play tug, and go to work. He doesn’t like bad guys or going to bed. Andor’s favorite treats are cheese and bacon-flavored Dentastix. Officer Bucher and K9 Andor’s visit was made possible through the efforts of Ruston Thompson, also a member of the Waco Police Department.

On Tuesday, May 14, the library will host a Family Reading Night at 5:30 pm and welcome United States Marine Alan White and his dog Szva. White is the owner of White Haven Canine Evaluators, a dog evaluation and therapy dog service. Everyone is invited to the library to meet White and Szva.
