Beth Dutschmann
April 24, 2025
Ruth Elizabeth “Beth” Dutschmann, 58, of McGregor, TX, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family on Friday, March 14, 2025. A memorial for Beth will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 6 pm, at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor.
Beth was Born December 19, 1966, to Glen Laverne Griffin and Carolyn Holmes Hart, in Orangeburg, SC. She was raised in the Sanford, Fayetteville, and Hope Mills, NC, area, and credited her Stepfather, US Army Retired Staff Sergeant William Tyndall, and dear friend and mentor Hubert Edwards, for instilling strong values such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, and respect. Beth graduated from Southview Senior High School in Hope Mills, NC, and Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC, with a degree in Radiologic Technology. She also studied Computed Tomography at Northern Virginia Community College, and American Sign Language at the College of Southern Nevada. In 2023, Beth was designated a Baylor University Alumni-by-Choice.
Beth married Steven Dutschmann on April 22, 2000, at Mother Neff State Park, TX. In August 2001, they celebrated the birth of their son Samuel Dean Dutschmann in Fayetteville, NC.
Beth enjoyed working as a Registered X-ray Technologist for various hospitals in NC, Carolina Lithotripsy, and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital in VA. While she was going to school in NC, she discovered a need to serve the Radiology community. She created X-ray Grafix, LLC, with numerous trademarked designs for T-shirts, tote-bags and lapel pins. After moving to Las Vegas, NV, she learned how to manufacture X-ray markers and changed the name of her company to X-ray Markers, LLC. The company grew dramatically in Valdosta, GA, becoming a global leader in X-ray marker designs and colors, with numerous patents.
While helping Baylor students throughout the 2019 pandemic, Beth was called to minister to students in need of supplemental meals, clothing, books, moving assistance and storage. She created On Campus Mom and registered the OCM Foundation, Inc., with the State of Texas as a non-profit entity, and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) entity. She established a simple goal: “to provide for Bears who are lacking in any area that may negatively impact their ability to thrive, to belong and feel confident while attending college. It is our desire to ensure that No Bear Is Left Behind.”
Beth is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Steven, and son, Sam Dutschmann. Father-in-Law Marvin Dutschmann and Mother-in-Law Mary Wanda Dutschmann. Brother Glen Griffin and Sister-in-Law Becky Griffin of Santee, SC. Brother-in-Law Gary Dutschmann and his wife Jennifer Dutschmann of Dallas, TX. Sister-in-Law Lori Ann Burris and her husband, Simon Burris, of Woodway, TX, along with nephews Owen Burris and Peter Burris, and niece Lucy Burris.
Preceding Beth in death were her parents, stepfather William Tyndall, and her dear friend Hubert Edwards.
