Shelly Ann Reese (Crouch), age 74, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2025, in Salado, Texas. Born on November 28, 1950, in Temple, Texas, Shelly lived a life filled with love, grace, and devotion.
A proud graduate of McGregor High School and Vogue Beauty School, Shelly pursued careers in cosmetology and modeling. She began by teaching in both fields, sharing her knowledge and uplifting those she mentored. Her professional journey later led her to serve as the cosmetics manager for Chanel in Highland Park Dallas, where her elegance and dedication left a lasting impression on her family, friends, and coworkers who became lifelong friends.
Shelly had a natural gift for beauty that she loved sharing with others— whether styling their hair or decorating their home, she brought warmth and creativity to every endeavor. Her vibrant spirit shone through in her love for socializing and connecting with others from the time she was born throughout her years. When life led her and AW to Celaya, Mexico, she quickly became everyone’s friend in the “Gringas” ladies group and continued many of these friendships throughout her life.
She shared a devoted marriage with the love of her life Aubrey Wesley “AW” Reese. Shelly is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sarah Rivera and son-in-law Nathan Rivera; grandsons Zachary Leonard and Lucas Rivera; granddaughter Olivia Leonard; brother James Marshall Crouch III and his wife Paula; sister Celestia Hoelscher and her husband Wayne; nephews Robbie and Matt Crouch; niece Taylor Winkler; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and her faithful four-legged companion, Roxy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Marshall Crouch Jr. and Mary Jo Oswald Crouch.
Shelly’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. Her steadfast devotion to the Lord provided strength and peace throughout her journey.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 W. 5th Street, McGregor, Texas 76657. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Missy Stiles for her devoted care and companionship and to the nurses (Alexandria, Kaitlyn, & Theresa) and the entire staff of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their compassion.
May Shelly’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
