We celebrate the beautiful life of Debbie Hering, who passed away peacefully at home in McGregor, Texas, on March 6, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on August 11, 1954, in Clifton, Texas. She embodied grace, selflessness, and love, always seeking to uplift those around her.
She married her high school sweetheart, Boyd Hering, on November 30, 1974, and together, they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and deep-rooted faith. Their love story was a testament to the power of commitment and the beauty of a shared life.
She was a loving wife to Boyd, a loving mother to her son Zeb and his wife Jenny, daughter Sarah, and a proud, adoring “DeeDee” to her grandchildren, Kinleigh and Zeke. Debbie also shared a deep and loving bond with her sisters, Connie Smith and Tina Simpson, with whom she created a lifetime of cherished memories
She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Her kindness and generosity extended to every member of her family, making them feel truly special and deeply loved.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved daughter, Sarah, as well as her parents, Dorothy and A.E. Drew.
Debbie dedicated much of her life to teaching and inspiring others. As an educator in Valley Mills and McGregor, she left a lasting impact on countless students, not only shaping their minds but also nurturing their spirits. She also found great joy in teaching Sunday school, sharing her unwavering faith and love for God with children and adults alike.
Debbie’s legacy of love, her infectious laughter, unwavering faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She taught us how to love unconditionally, how to laugh often, and how to trust in God’s plan through all things.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on March 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Woodway, followed by a graveside service at the McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, march 14, 2025, at Grace Gardents Funeral Home
Pall Bearers will be Richard Anderson, Jake Burson, James Burson, Josh Burson, Zeb Hering, and Zeke Hering.
