Larry Wagnon

March 12, 2025

Larry Hugh Wagnon, “Wag,” was born December 24, 1953, to H.G. Wagnon and Vernita Lehrmann Wagnon in McGregor, Texas, and passed peacefully from his earthly body on March 2, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Graveside services were held on March 7 at the McGregor Cemetery.
Larry was a 1972 graduate of McGregor High School and enlisted in the US NAVY after graduation. He was a machinist and worked in several shops before retiring from Marathon Norco. He was a man of many hobbies and interests. Larry loved to cruise on his motorcycle or in his classic cars. He enjoyed not just playing the lotto but studying it, and he was pretty good at the PICK 3 numbers. He could sit and just listen to music for hours. He also enjoyed playing golf. And, of course, his favorite pastimes were drinking beer and telling funny stories.
Larry was predeceased by his father, H.G. Wagnon, and nephew, Michael Andrew Lella.
He is survived by his mother, Vernita Wagnon, and sister, Linda Lella. He was always known as Bubba to nieces Melissa Lella Pevehouse and husband Chris, Amy Lella and fiancé Joe Lopez, great-nephew Michael Austin Lella, and great-great-nieces Makynleigh and Macee Lella.
Larry is also survived by his uncle, Charles “Shorty” Lehrmann, many cousins, and lifelong friends James Burson and Jay Anderson.
The family would like to thank Providence Hospice–Community Healthcare of Texas for the compassionate care shown to our Bubba in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, please designate memorials in Larry’s name to Providence Hospice or the charity of your choice.
