It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marguerite “Midge” Josephine Beltran (McDonald), born on February 12, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. She lived the majority of her life in El Paso, Texas, and died on March 1, 2025, in her home of McGregor, Texas.
Marguerite was a devout Catholic with a devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary. She always prayed and said, “God is going to take care of it. All I can do is take life in stride.”
She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her extended family and friends from El Paso and friends at the dialysis center, as well as the community of St. Eugene Catholic Church. She enjoyed being a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Clark McDonald, mother Marguerite Josephine Alves, and husband Alberto Manuel Beltran. She is survived by her daughters Ann M. Newberry (Velez) and husband Fredrick, M. Nannette Daniels (Velez), and Maria T. Velez. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erika A. Coulter (Newberry) and husband Branden, Fredrick C. Newberry and wife Pilar, Tiffany A. Newberry, Anthony J. Newberry, Ernest Daniels, Andrew Daniels, Jon Michael Daniels, and Stephanie Velez and partner Austin, and her great-grandchildren Dylan, Yazmine, Emma, Yezenia, Victoria, Mia, Chloe, Penelope, Kooper, Satiny, and Addison.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor, Texas.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to her medical care team, the Texas Oncology team, the dialysis team, the Community Healthcare of Texas Providence Hospice, and countless family and friends who cared for her in her life.
A time of visitation and the reciting of the holy rosary was held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor.
